“So grateful to Roy and the team! He gave me the best quote out of the others I asked, and he did more than just give us a beautiful new roof. There were multiple things that needed doing that weren't ignored. His communication was fantastic and the house looks 1000x better! Thanks guys”

New South Wales roofing professionals
Metal roofs built forTweed Valley weather.
New roofs and restorations, leaks chased down and fixed, gutters and gutter guard, and rope access for the pitches that a ladder will not reach. Roy and the crew work out of Murwillumbah and go wherever the job is, including a long way out of town.

What we do
Five things, done properly.
This is the list Speck Roofing puts in its own newspaper advertisement, word for word. No extras bolted on, no trades we do not actually do.
New roofs and roof restorations
A full re-roof, from stripping the old sheets to the last screw. Reviewers who have had it done describe an honest quote up front, being kept in the loop the whole way through, and all the waste taken away at the end.
Roof leaks
Finding where the water is actually getting in, which is rarely where it lands inside. One customer describes a quick diagnosis of the problem and a repair the same visit.
Roof repairs
Repairs at short notice, including on properties well out of town. A reviewer whose place is remote wrote that the distance was not a problem.
Gutters and gutter guards
Gutters, downpipes and gutter guard, fitted as part of a re-roof or on their own. One reviewer had the roof, gutters and downpipes all replaced in the one job.
Rope access
Roped work for the pitches and heights that a ladder or a scaffold cannot sensibly reach. It is one of the five things listed on the Speck Roofing advertisement.

Gutters and downpipes go on in the same visit as the sheets.
Gemma F had her roof, gutters and downpipes replaced together.

Rope access
The pitches other roofers walk away from.
Rope access sits on the Speck Roofing advertisement alongside the new roofs and the gutters. It means a steep pitch, an awkward height or a roof with nowhere to stand a scaffold is still a job that can be quoted and done, rather than a job that has to be turned down.
- Steep pitches where a ladder is not a sensible answer
- Heights and spans that will not take a scaffold
- Leak chasing on a roof that cannot simply be walked
Built for the wet
A roof around here gets tested properly.
The measure of a roof is not how it looks the week it goes on. It is whether it is still dry after a run of heavy downpours and a cyclone, and on that the reviews are specific.
“After many heavy downpours in Murwillumbah, we’ve had no leaks. The roof held up perfectly during Cyclone Alfred.”
And when the weather turns up mid job, the job gets protected. A customer describes heavy rain forecast halfway through a re-roof, and the crew sheeting the work up so it stayed wind and water tight until they could come back and finish it.

A finished re-roof with the original chimney kept in place, photographed by the customer who had it done.

Not just houses
Commercial roofs in town, too.
Long runs, low pitches and big spans need different detailing to a house roof and a crew that can set out a sheet properly across the whole length of it. That work gets done here as well as the residential re-roofs.
Sheds, commercial buildings, and everything in between.
Recent jobs
Roofs that went on around the valley.
Old sheets off, new sheets on, gutters and downpipes to match. These are the photos on the Google listing, put up by Speck Roofing and by the customers themselves.

Who you are dealing with
Roy, and the crew he runs.
Speck Roofing has been trading as a company out of the Tweed since 2021. Roy is the name the reviews keep coming back to: for the quote, for the updates while the job is on, and for sorting out anything that needs sorting out.
0468 463 058He quotes straight
A customer who got several quotes wrote that Roy gave the best one, then did more on the day than the quote covered.
He keeps you posted
Two separate reviews single out the communication, before the job and all the way through it.
The site gets left clean
Reviewers mention a thorough clean up, and all the waste taken away rather than left in the yard.
Damage gets made right
A crew member dented a fence panel. It was made child and pet proof the same day and replaced with a matching panel inside two days.

“Speck Roofing did an outstanding job! Roy and his team were fantastic from start to finish. They replaced our old roof, gutters, and downpipes. Great value for money, and the quality of work is excellent. They were considerate, cleaned up thoroughly, and after many heavy downpours in Murwillumbah, we've had no leaks. The roof held up perfectly during Cyclone Alfred. Very happy with the results. Highly recommend!”
“Roy and the Speck team did a fantastic job replacing our old rusty roof a couple of months ago. Communication was good, before & during the job Roy kept us updated. Heavy rain was predicted when they were halfway through replacing the roof. Speck Roofing made sure that the roof was properly protected from rain & wind, until they could finish the job. One of the guys accidentally made a dent in our fence. Roy instantly ensured a temporary fix, making sure that the fence was still child & pet proof. He replaced the damaged panel within two days with a matching panel. They even removed a small tree that was growing out of our carport roof (without us asking, and the carport is a small distance from the house). Would highly recommend their service!”
“Arrived at time he had advised. Quick diagnosis of gutter's problem. Rapid A1 repair. Fair price. Happy customer. I strongly recommend Speck Roofing.”
“The team repaired the roof at very short notice. Our property is remote which wasn't a problem. My builder husband was very pleased with the job and even more pleased with the fact they took all waste with them. I would recommend as the whole process was very streamlined.”
Where we go
The Tweed Valley and out the other side.
Based on Tweed Valley Way at Murwillumbah, working through the valley and across the Northern Rivers. Out of town properties are normal here, not an obstacle. One reviewer put it plainly: their place is remote, and it was not a problem.
